U of T Munk School of Global Affairs Presents: Taiwanese Cuisine: Intimate Politics in FilmPosted: October 18, 2011
As the weekend slowly…slowly creeps its way towards us once again (can’t wait!), I couldn’t help but find out what’s happening in our fair city Friday to Sunday.
This weekend the Munk School of Global Affairs will be hosting the Taiwanese Cuisine: Intimate Politics in Film. Running Friday night and Saturday, the event will be showing 3 Taiwanese-based films:
- Night Market Hero, Directed by Tien-Lun Yeh
- Eat Drink Man Woman, Directed by Ang Lee
- Kuei‐mei, A Woman, Directed by Yi Chang
These films are accompanied by some scholary lectures and discussions around Taiwanese food, culture and of course, film. You need not to worry if you don’t understand Mandarin, because all films will have English subtitles.
Please note though that you must register for lectures, galas, films & panels. Otherwise, it appears seating is first come, first serve.
